Art and Music Instructor Jobs

Are you a passionate music instructor looking for your next career move? Singapore’s vibrant arts scene is calling your name! We connect talented educators like you with MOE Schools to teach enrichment programs during their Music periods.
Music Teacher Jobs Singapore
Can’t decide between teaching music at an MOE school or being your own freelancer? Why not both? Being an AMIS instructor lets you have the best of both worlds, giving you the valuable experience of teaching music in a Ministry of Education school, while still allowing you the freedom to teach in the afternoon or perform at night. (Whereas if you are a full-fledged MOE teacher, that’s considered moonlighting!) Being a musician in Singapore doesn’t need to be a struggle; a good income is possible if you can toggle between different jobs, which is what teaching with AMIS will allow you to do. Although we are not looking for Art instructors in Singapore, we are still looking for dedicated Music instructors who would love to give their all to teach music in MOE schools.
Music Instructor Jobs

There are many diverse opportunities for you, whether you are teaching STOMP percussion, ukulele, singing, guitar, GarageBand, or beatboxing. Just find days and times you are available and head down to the school in Singapore to teach! The great thing about the AMIS qualification is that it’s a universal certification, which means you’re not limited to the skill set you used to get the Art and Music Instructor Scheme cert. Feel free to learn how to teach other skills to expand your opportunities and income. If you need ongoing support, feel free to ask me or my team of instructors for help.
AMIS for Primary Schools
So far, all the teaching jobs for AMIS we have encountered are for Primary Schools in Singapore. I personally find primary schools easier to teach, and this is a great start to your music education experience where classroom management skills are easier to pick up. I’m here to help if you need to learn more about classroom management!

How to get the AMIS (Art and Music Instructor Scheme) Certification:

What if you don’t have the AMIS certification yet? Head over to https://www.moe.gov.sg/education-in-sg/our-programmes/cca/register, scroll down to “Art and Music Instructor Scheme (for Primary Schools),” and follow their instructions to submit your relevant documents. All the best with your application! The bare minimum requirements are:
- 5 GCE O-Level passes (must include English)
- Relevant music qualifications. (The last I checked, a grade 5 or 6 in your area of expertise seems to be the minimum, but this information isn’t always disclosed. Submitting your Music Theory cert, too, could help.)
- Experience teaching primary school-age students in music. (Even if you don’t have this, submit your application and try, as it can be challenging to get teaching experience without taking the first step into the industry.)
I wish you all the best, and we hope to work together with you! Bring your teaching and music passion to our next generation.
